Collection: Salvia

Salvias make up a huge genus of plants that range in size from tiny ground covers up to 4 metre shrubs. They are now becoming quite popular in Australian gardens and we have a collection of over 100 named varieties that we have trialled and tested over the last 20 years. All of our salvias are reliably perennial and have been selected to be long flowering with excellent drought tolerance and a wide colour range. Many salvias will grow in coastal climates as well as Queensland though are very adaptable to any climate and soil types. Generally, once established they will grow in a low water environment though a little water in the drier months or mulching will reward you with even more flowers over a longer period. Please note some varieties may need length trimmed to allow for postage. Trimming will not affect the plants establishing, in fact with many it will help them take a neater growing shape.
