Salvia discolor
Salvia discolor
This Salvia from the Peruvian Andes has flowers that are a very dark purple, from a distance almost appear black, one of the very few black flowering plants we have. The leaves also have an unusual, two-tone silvery apple-green colour. It is mildly frost resistant to around -2 at a well-established stage. As it almost grows like a vine, it would easily climb amongst a trellis. Flowering is in late spring, summer and autumn, longer in milder winter areas. For best results, we recommend planting in areas with full sun and cool to temperate climates. Typically growing to 1.2 metres high it can be pruned to any size required.
Supplied in 450ml pots.
