Zauschneria 'Californica'

Zauschneria 'californica' also known as Epilobium canum, would have to be one of the most drought tolerant plants that we know of. Once established, it rarely needs watering here. The orange red salvia like flowers appear late spring, summer and autumn and are a magnet for small birds. It has soft grey green foliage and grows in just about any soil. Growing to around 50cm high with a 60cm spread, it is deciduous in very cold winters. Suitable for full sun in cool and temperate climates.
