Tradescantia

Tradescantia  are one of those plant genus that should be more popular than they are. We only grow the Andersoniana group of these plants. They have many virtues, very tough, drought tolerant garden plants. Flowering all the way through the growing season. Makes an excellent ground cover and also flower well in sun or shade. Can be sheered to the ground and they restart all over again. They come in different flower and foliage colours. Most grow to around 50cm flower height and seem to thrive on neglect. For maximum flowering they should only be fertilized lightly. For cool  temperate and subtropical climates .
