Collection: Potentilla

Potentillas are best described as similar to a strawberry plant, except they have a greater range of flower colours and flower for a much longer time. They also have larger more attractive leaves. Foliage heights are from 20-50cm. Some have a sprawling habit with flowering stems that tend to climb amongst neighbouring plants, but not in an invasive way.  They have numerous flushes of strawberry like bright flowers over a long period from mid spring through to mid autumn. Some have very attractive silver leaf as well. Here in our cold frosty winter climate most are semi-herbaceous, in warmer climates they maybe evergreen. Frost and reasonably drought tolerant when established. For full sun to part shade in cool to temperate areas.
