Collection: Physostegia
Physostegia are commonly known as obedient plants. They typically form an upright clump of deep green leaves bearing profuse, soft rose spikes of flowers over a long period during summer and autumn. The odd name derives from the fact that if the individual flowers are bent to one side, they will remain there and not spring back. They make excellent cut flowers and tolerate most soils. They suit cool, temperate to subtropical climates and should be sheered to the ground each winter for fresh new growth in spring.
