Collection: Phygelius
Phygelius or Cape Fuchsia are a low growing shrub commonly found in South African gardens. They have many tubular penstemon-like flowers for an extended amount of time. Starting very early in summer, throughout all of autumn and sometimes beyond. The leaves are much wider than penstemons and have an almost gloss finish to them. They are suitable for cool to temperate and subtropical climates in full sun or part shade. They can also be planted in a wide range of soil types. They are drought tolerant once established and flower extremely well if supplied enough water in summer. We prune ours heavily every year for a nice bushy appearance. Grows to around 100cm high with a similar spread. Sub-tropical areas can expect a slightly larger plant.
