Cosmos 'Cherry Chocolate' perennial cosmos

This is a new plant for us and we have tested it to see that it is winter cold tolerant and soundly perennial which it is. It is indeed a different flower colour to the normal chocolate cosmos which we also grow. It also seems more vigorous  and is a slightly bigger plant at around 60cm high and 50cm in spread. These cosmos make excellent container plants as well as garden bed use. Best in full sun but also tolerates part shade. They go dormant in winter and re shoot early spring. Frost resistant down to around -2 when established and mulched, but may need covering in very deep or repeating frosts. These grow by tubers which can also be dug up and stored in harsh winter climates. Supplied in 450 ml pots.
